The Three Main Entry Points

Guest Access vs. Report Sharing
This is one of the most common decision points. They look similar but serve completely different purposes.
Guest Access
Ongoing workbook access
Someone needs to come back repeatedly
They need their own login path
They'll work inside the real system
Not for one-time snapshots
Use for: spouses, assistants, co-owners, bookkeepers with recurring access.
Report Sharing
Clean one-time snapshot
You need to send a clean report
No recurring workbook access needed
Great for accountants at tax time
Not for ongoing collaboration
Use for: one-time accountant handoffs, sharing a summary without giving access.
When in doubt: access key vs. guest vs. report?
Access keys are for the account owner's registration only. Guests use the invite flow. Report sharing is for one-time exports. Never share your access key to give someone else entry — use guest access instead.
What Not to Do
- Do not assume every help or tool lives in the same menu — they are intentionally separated by function.
- Do not share access keys when what you really need is guest access.
- Do not use a report export when what you really want is ongoing guest visibility.
